While speaking with a friend last week, she told me that an associate of hers made a comment to her, that she had changed. She admitted to me that she has changed a lot with, how she dresses, who she hangs out with, and how she carries herself. She asked my opinion, if in fact, she had changed. If so, would I see her in a different light? I did notice some differences with her months ago where she seemed depressed and now she exudes self-love.
Nah, I just love myself more.
It’s funny that when someone is at their happiest people began to notice. They reflect their own insecurities onto you hoping that you’ll go back into a dark cycle that you’ve spent months or even years trying to get out of. Where’s that lonely person they once knew? You’ve changed! Yet, misery loves company. Since my divorce, I relate a lot to my friend, because many have told me I’ve changed. Most saying so in positive light, while others want me to remain in the pain of not knowing myself. I’ve come to realize that society on occasion, wants you to be one step behind, less happier, and have more self-doubt. It happens. It’s happening daily- but I want you to remember this…
You will never regret loving yourself more.
Ever. I’m a living witness of this and can state at 29 years young that I’ve never loved myself more. At this age, how I dress is completely different from how I dressed when I was 18. Hell, it’s completely different from how I dressed a year ago. I’m different. I love it! Many will crucify you because of what they do not understand. Presumptions will be made of your insecurity. Nah, you just love and respect yourself a little more.
Yes, you’ve changed..
You’re a better version of what you were supposed to be. So, keep confusing people. Keep learning yourself, the good, the bad, and the ugly. You are right where you are supposed to be. And the next time someone says you’ve changed, say, “Thank you I’m finally living my truth.”
Love y’all! Live your best lives.
