Year…THIRTY

Today’s my 30th birthday and as I sit and write this post I’m overjoyed! This very moment in my life, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. It’s not because I have someone new in my life, it’s not because my friends are the bomb (they are though), it’s not even because I’m getting thick (don’t tell me differently). But it’s because I love myself more now than I have ever before. I’m sitting here smiling because I feel like I’ve accomplished a lot!

Yes, I had the moment of WHAT HAVE I DONE WITH MY LIFE, but it literally lasted for 2 seconds, and I’m grateful for that. If I’m honest, this amazing feeling of self-worth and self-awareness started last year on my birthday. I promised myself that my last year of my 20’s would be the best.

Here’s how I made 29 the best and why 30 will be even better: Speaking positive affirmations. I’m a strong believer in speaking positivity over my life daily. So, whatever comes out of my mouth it will manifest in my life. I kept saying I wanted my brand to grow more and it did this year. Yes, it takes hard work too but speaking positivity over your dreams works! Everyday including today I’ve tried to speak at least one affirmation in the morning and at night.

No Rules- I started living my life for myself. I grew up always trying to please my mom and never wanting to be a disappointment to her. I wanted to make the best grades, I didn’t want to taste alcohol, nor did I want to go “out”. I still pick and choose what I want to do but it’s definitely different now. I love my family and I still don’t want to disappoint them but I’m finally living for myself. I’m living according to my own rules and it has been the most freeing experience ever.

My 20’s were fun, happy, sad, painful, and worthwhile! I can’t wait to see what the 30’s have for me and I pray you’ll continue with me on this journey!
