I know I’m extremely late on this blog post but planning an event is exhausting! lol I’ve been wanting to plan a natural hair event since I’ve started blogging but a lot of lives situations got in the way of that. New Orleans doesn’t have many natural hair events outside of Essence Festival and I want to change that. I want to host, plan, or attend an event at least seasonal. So, after this event I think I can make that happen. It was a blast hosting and I still cannot believe people showed up! Now ya’ll are asking me to host another event in the Spring of 2019. I must say I’m soooo grateful to have been able to host a natural hair event in New Orleans! I’m even more grateful that the natural hair community here wants to see more events, we can make this happen.
The funny thing is I was a nervous wreck leading up to: “What’s Your Type: A Natural Hair Affair.” I had many times of self-doubt if I even wanted to host an event. You know those thoughts, “People don’t even know me, why would they want to come.” I’m not a big natural hair blogger so maybe 1 person will come but I was wrong. As I type this I’m becoming so emotional because no one owes anyone anything in this world. We are taught to support and be kind to people and the will return to you and with this event I can say that I’m a witness to that.
What was at the event:
Natural Hair Panel discussing why hair porosity is MORE important than hair type. Do you know your hair porosity? If not, please research how hair porosity helps with the health of your natural hair or don’t miss our next event! 😉
