Seriously, I love Big Lots! There are always great sales, especially during football season. Don’t be stressed out about how much you’ll have to spend on game day food. The snacks, utensils, and other game day essentials are always marked down at Big Lots.
My family is quite simple when it comes to game day snacks, so give them an oven-baked pizza, chicken wings, and chips/dip and they’re happy! The trip to Big Lots was the quickest shopping trip ever because all the snacks and utensils were all in the same area. All I had to do was pick the snacks that I knew my family enjoyed, and go straight to the check-out.
Growing up we always had football parties, and I always watched the game with my mom and sister’s. Now that we’re all older and I’m married now, nothing is different. We love gathering around the T.V. with snack to watch our favorite team play! For this game, we wanted to try new snacks, so we picked up some Pirate’s Booty Cheddar Puffs and New Style Ranch flavored Pita Chips.
New York Style Pita Chips (Garden Fresh-Ranch flavored)-Served with tuna fish!
The NY Style Pita Chips were a hit! These are available in many different flavors: Chia seeds & Quinoa, Ancient Grains & Flaxseed, Parmesan, Garlic&Herb, Red Hot Chili pepper, and Garden Fresh Ranch. We chose the latter, the Garden Fresh Ranch. We paired the chips with some tuna fish dip, and it was really good! Let’s just say my sister was still eating them days after the game.
The Pirate Booty (Aged-White Cheddar Corn) Puffs were definitely yummy as well, especially for the kids. My niece’s and nephew didn’t want to stop eating these, which is a plus because they’re gluten free! PB also comes in a re-sealable bag to keep the puffs fresh. These also are available in many different varieties.
Can’t forget the drinks! We picked up some old-fashioned bottled soda (Crush, Root Beer, and Creme Soda) to wash down all the yummy snacks we got! I love old-fashioned bottles, so I’m glad Big Lots had these and only for .75c! For the kids, we picked up 2 liter sodas because they were only $1.60 each! Such good prices, I was so happy! Aren’t these bottles cute?!
If kids are attending your party as well, trust me, pick up these football brownies! My nieces and nephews loved them, and it helps that they were shaped like a football. Makes them more involved in the party and it doesn’t hard that they are chocolate, so adults will like them as well.
